Seeing how sports evolve over time is always fascinating. In this visualise, Nathan Yau shows that the number of mid-range shots are declining. Player preference is shifting towards long-range shots for the simple logic that you get more points for three-pointers, so you can make fewer of them and still earn more points than if you were to shoot mostly mid-range.
